Near Highway 99 in Turlock is a giant bulldozer that's actually a building that rents and sells construction equipment and machines like bulldozers. The building was built in 1976 by United Equipment and is modeled off of a Cat D5 bulldozer. It is 66 feet long, two stories tall at 21 and 1/2 feet, and 28 feet wide. The bulldozer is complete with smoke stacks, treads, and even a large seat for the operator. Rocks are additionally pushed up in front of the bulldozer.
Inside there is the typical office environment, complete with stairs up to the second floor, a receptionist area, and even an executive office. The back side of the office is simply painted yellow and does not complete the bulldozer look, although it is blocked by several trees. The building is a form of Programmatic Architecture formerly popular in the Los Angeles area back in the 1920s and 1930s. So if you want a building in the shape of a bulldozer that sells actual bulldozers, Turlock is your place. The building is not open on the weekends, but you can still see it through a fence. On the weekdays you can enter the parking lot and get closer to take pictures.
