Demon Swing

Got kids? Want them to play at the park with other kids? Well, Henderson's Fox Ridge Park is haunted with the ghost of a young boy, who really enjoys the swing! But, he apparently may not make the best playmate. However, your kids may still enjoy this tale of the haunted swing!
The ghost boy usually appears only at night and he can be found on one of the swings. There are two sets of swings, one for the younger kids and the normal set of swings. The ghost boy appears on the normal set and can be found swinging one back and forth after dark; it's said he appears around midnight. Most of the time the swing appears to swing itself, and not just the gentle swinging that some wind would cause, but full on, appears to have an invisible child in it type of swinging. For those lucky enough, or unlucky enough, a full on boy can be seen swinging back and forth on the swing. But, if you watch the boy for too long, or come too close, or heaven forbid make eye contact for more than a mere moment, the boy's face horribly contorts, becoming demon like as he stares at you intently before fading away before your eyes.
Of course, this urban legend has a few different sources for the origin of the boy. One tale states he was run over near the park by a drunk driver. Another version has him getting hit by a car when he chased after a ball that rolled across the street. There have been several accounts of the demon boy being seen, usually haunting the park, specifically the swing, around midnight. Additionally, having the park situated right next to an elementary school, Estes McDoniel, certainly helps create more urban legends.
Besides the demon boy, people have witnessed mist floating in the park, particularly around the swings before the boy appears. Others have reported hearing a ghost voice say "goodbye" to them as they left. And, at night, several visitors have reported the overall feeling of unease being present in the park. So, if you're looking for a partner in a midnight swing, the Fox Ridge Park in Henderson is for you!
